It was just about a week ago that the Tennessee football team received some bad news, as 4-star offensive lineman Brandon Anderson decided to open up his recruitment and back off his verbal pledge from the Vols. It was disappointing news for the 2026 efforts.
However, could Anderson end up making his way to Knoxville down the road for his college playing days? It’s something that can’t be ruled out, especially after the latest update. According to Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman, the touted recruit has scheduled four official visits, including one with Tennessee for June 20. This is something we did not see coming:

Tennessee isn’t the only program who will be getting an official from the 6-4, 320-pounder, as he’ll also be taking trips to meet with the staffs at Florida State, Georgia and Florida. Anderson could set up more trips too.
Anderson is ranked the No. 22 interior offensive lineman in the country and No. 34 player from Georgia for his class according to the 247Sports Composite. More than 20 programs have put an offer on the table for the touted recruit.
As things stand, the Vols hold seven known pledges for the ’26 haul. This number is expected to grow for Josh Heupel and Tennessee with spring ball around the corner. Losing Anderson was a bit of a bummer, but the fact that he’s taking an OV to get back on campus later this year shows that the door isn’t closed for him to end up signing with UT next December.
Obviously, there’s stiff competition to land Anderson’s services, but Heupel and his coaches will be ready to make him realize that Knoxville is the right place for him to call home. Anderson is considered a big-time talent and he sure would look good in orange↔
