Marcus Jordan, the 34-year-old son of NBA legend Michael Jordan, was arrested in Florida on Tuesday morning on multiple charges, including driving under the influence (DUI), cocaine possession, and resisting arrest without violence. 
According to the arrest report, Jordan’s vehicle became stuck on train tracks in Maitland, Florida, around 2 a.m. on Tuesday. Police stated that Jordan’s vehicle had fled from a traffic stop initiated by the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office. Jordan claimed he got stuck after making a wrong turn.
When officers approached the vehicle, they noticed that Jordan had “red bloodshot and glassy eyes” and that there was a strong smell of alcohol coming from the Lamborghini SUV. Jordan admitted to having “some drinks” while spending time at “a few venues in Winter Park and Casselberry,” but denied being over the legal limit.
Despite his claims, Jordan was arrested after failing field sobriety exercises. A search of his person revealed a clear plastic baggie containing a white powdery substance, which later tested positive for cocaine.
Jordan’s arrest was further complicated when he refused to cooperate with officers, resisting arrest without violence. He also refused to provide breath samples at the DUI center.
Jordan was booked into the Orange County Jail and posted bond, being released just before noon on Tuesday. Neither Jordan nor his family has publicly commented on the arrest.
This incident marks a troubling turn for Marcus Jordan, who played basketball for the University of Central Florida (UCF) before pursuing a career in business. His father, Michael Jordan, is widely regarded as one of the greatest basketball players of all time.
