The Montreal Canadiens have secured the third spot in the 2025 NHL prospect pool rankings, boasting an impressive array of young talent. According to the latest rankings, the Canadiens’ prospect system has jumped from fourth to second, showcasing the team’s commitment to rebuilding and developing their roster.
At the forefront of this talented group is Ivan Demidov, the fifth-overall pick in the 2024 draft. Demidov is regarded by many as a more complete player than Matvei Michkov, combining strong offensive instincts with an all-around versatile game. His arrival has significantly altered the future trajectory of the Canadiens.
Another key prospect is David Reinbacher, a defenseman who split his draft-plus-one campaign between the Swiss league and AHL. Reinbacher has all the necessary tools to become a top-pairing, all-situations blueliner, and his development is being closely monitored.
