The Boston Bruins faced a daunting task on Monday afternoon, trailing the San Jose Sharks 3-2 entering the third period. However, they rallied with four goals in the final 20 minutes to secure a much-needed 6-3 win at the TD Garden.
Charlie Coyle was the hero of the game, scoring two crucial goals in the third period, including the game-winner. His centering pass from behind the net deflected off Sharks netminder Yaroslav Askarov and into the net, giving the Bruins a 4-3 lead. Coyle’s goals were a testament to the Bruins’ determination and resilience, as they fought back from a potentially disastrous loss. 
The Bruins’ win was also aided by some puck luck, as two of their goals were the result of fortunate deflections. David Pastrnak’s goal in the second period was a prime example, as his shot deflected off the stick of a San Jose defenseman and then off the leg of another defenseman before finding its way into the net.
Despite the Sharks’ lead entering the third period, the Bruins’ top players came through with crucial performances. Coyle had two goals and an assist, while Brad Marchand had a goal and an assist. Matthew Poitras chipped in with a pair of assists, and Pastrnak had a goal and an assist.
Joonas Korpisalo made 25 saves in the win, including a spectacular glove save in the third period to keep the game tied. The Bruins’ goalie came up big when it mattered most, helping his team secure a vital two points in the standings.
The Bruins’ win sets them up for a challenging week ahead, with games against the New Jersey Devils, Ottawa Senators, and Colorado Avalanche. With six points available in four days, the Bruins will need to continue their winning form to avoid falling behind in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
