SEC TOURNAMENT | What’s on the line for Ole Miss Rebels when they meet top-ranked Texas Longhorns later

Much will be on the line today when the Ole Miss women’s basketball team faces the No. 1-ranked Texas Longhorns in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament. The Rebels and the Longhorns take the court at 5 p.m. CT Friday. The game will be televisied on the SEC Network.

The winner of this game will advance to face the winner of today’s Florida/LSU game on Saturday at 6 p.m. CT in the semifinal round.

Ole Miss can move one step closer to bringing the NCAA Tournament home with them to Oxford. In ESPN analyst Charlie Creme’s latest bracketology, he has the Rebels and the Pavilion as hosting the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament as a No. 4 seed.

Some believe Ole Miss (20-9) has already done enough to secure a host role in the Big Dance. But a win over the nation’s No. 1 team would lock it down and leave no suspense. It’s really as simple as that. Plus, it means the team would live another day in its efforts to win the postseason title of one of, if not the toughest, women’s basketball conferences in America.
